I managed to reload the newest Firmware using the procedures Byon recommended from the Byonics website, and TeraTermPro software.

: Is my TT4 unit hosed up, or is the software burping, or have I set the configuration data incorrectly for some of the parameters and the software is "correcting" the data to what it thinks it SHOULD be? This a TT4 unit that I just recently had issues with, while trying to update the Firmware to the most recent version, and had it lock up and FAIL during the upgrade procedure. Example: Although I set the STATUSRATE to quantity of "4", the actual transmissions would go out every SECOND (2nd) Position Reporting transmission.ĪLSO, when READing the Configuration data from the Tt4, using the TT4 Alpha Configuration software, the software would EVERY time report a random number of data "parsed", and invariably at LEAST "9 Items Changed", sometimes with as many as "30 Items Changed" during the configuration READ process. And even though the STATUSRATE Quantity data I entered stayed the same, the actual TT4 transmissions did NOT match the quantity of Status transmissions sent out before appending the Text data "Comment" to the respective Position Report. Upon discovering the mis-match, I would then READ the configuration data from the unit, and the BPERIOD & PPERIOD settings would come back out of the unit CHANGED to some other value, other than what I had initially saved and entered. Each time, until just recently, after making the settings and rebooting the TT4 unit, the ACTUAL time interval would NOT be what I had put into the configuration. I tried several different combinations of BPERIOD and PPERIOD, whether they BOTH be set identically (to 120 seconds, or 300 seconds, or 600 seconds, all the way out to 900 seconds), and then monitored the transmissions via the APRS.FI webpage Raw Data report. I have tried using both the Byonics TT4 Alpha Configuration software (most recent version), as WELL as the TeraTermPro software, and each one has shown some strange operations, after making the time interval settings for both BPERIOD and PPERIOD, along with the STATUSRATE.
What I need to know is: Does the PPERIOD setting link together with the BPERIOD setting somehow, to "limit" the maximum time interval for either one of the settings to a maximum time interval, or vice-versa? I have been working thru the settings required to set up operation of a fixed location APRS Digipeater, using a TT4 unit WITHOUT either a GPS Receiver OR a computer, and have been running into some strange scenarios.
